The Joyous Choir is a cult of Imperial worship that has exploded in popularity over the last year in Hive Sibellus. They follow a very benign (some would say nieve) doctrine that claims the Emperor desires us to be happy, and take joy in our lives. This served them well in the middle hive, where the prospect of hope and acceptance of useful work garnered them many followers who turned to them, rather then the wrathful Cult of Redemption, for inspiration in their daily lives. The tone and nature of the Emperor's Joy shifted slightly when the cult took hold in the upper hive, where it's doctrine of joy served as a righteous excuse for the nobles to gather and party in a slightly different environment then normal.
The Choir has been recently shaken by the discovery it's founder was using it to swindle money for a massive criminal organization. Worse, this organization's was using the choir's 'Harmony Meters' to discover latent psychic potential. Those who demonstrated this potential would be kidnapped and their brains utilized as a component of the incredibly powerful and addictive drug forcosia. Sense the ousting of this organization and the death of it's original founder, the cult is struggling to reestablish itself as a legitimate service before the nobels grow board and turn their attention and money to a different distraction.
