Background
Gregorius Domus is an English magus. He was discovered by a Norman Tyatlus while visiting English shores who kidnapped the child and brought him back to Fudarus, where he was apprenticed. His time at the Domus Magna of his House surrounded him with magi (not to mention the Prima) who only intensified his competitive nature. He suffered abuses at the hands of his parens, which was not unusual for a Tytalus apprenticeship. During his apprenticeship, his parens took him to wide-ranging travels. He has even been as far as Egypt when his parens grew interested in talk of the Second Crusade. While there, he witnessed the respect given to a Muslim physician who solved an ailment that none of the lesser physicians in town could provide. As a teen hungry for a means to demand respect of his own, Gregorius saw this as his way to become a respectable and respected magus when he was finally Gauntleted. This burning desire to be freed from the shackles of his Master saw his Guantleted several years later, though not without at least one failure; his parens was not above making things more difficult than it needed to be out of pure spite.
His gauntlet took place soon after the Second Crusade collapsed, in 1150. Gregorius returned to his native land of England after his apprenticeship, living as a peregrinator, a wandering magus, for a while. In time, he travelled to Ireland during the Norman invasion of Ireland that began in 1169. Gregorius himself came over in 1177 with Raymond le Gros' invasion of Munster, where the covenant of Ashenrise was located. After participating in questionably legal activities (for which he later faced charges at Tribunal), he joined Ashenrise mostly through blackmail: 'Allow me to join or the English will mysteriously find you and send their knights in.' This has set the tone of his relationship with the Irish magi ever since, who view him as an invader they're forced to live with.
Fortunately for Gregorius, he specialized in a field where magi and covenfolk were able to benefit despite his caustic, sarcastic manner. He shared his countrymen's disdain for 'quaint' Irish customs. Although he dislikes it, he has learned to speak the local Irish dialect to better communicate with the covenfolk (the barbarians refuse to learn a proper language, like English). He has also immersed himself in mundane studies of the human body, medicine and chirurgy that complement his Corpus studies and make him a formidable physician in his own right. He views illnesses as puzzles to be solved, which magic as the sledgehammer to 'fix' problems he cannot find a mundane solution for.
The last 2 decades, he has also been obsessed with achieving the rank of Archmagus, once he heard that his former Master had won the rank. Due to the customs involving becoming an Archmagus, Gregorius must first challenge his former Master. While there is no particular social penalty for failing to overcome your Master, Gregorius was hellbent on doing so. This has consumed his work for nearly a quarter century and is something Eos was exposed to during his apprenticeship. Unfortunately for Gregorius, he failed his parens' challenge, much to his shame, particularly when his former master shared it with the House.
Gregorius' relationship with his parens is one of envy (for his Archmagushood) and antagonism (he has never gotten over his apprenticeship abuse), but he has not been able to bring himself up to the level of declaring a Beloved Rival (HoH:S 80) of his parens. Ironically, he channeled many of his apprenticeship experiences onto his Eos, though he preferred intellectually browbeating Eos rather than physically beating him. Eos has recently taken on another apprentice from the covenfolk, and has taken to calling him 'Secundus', or 'Second'. This apprentice has grown up knowing Gregorius' reputation as a miracle healer, having seen many covenfolk benefit from his administrations and so takes the personality flaws more in stride.
Gregorius has declared himself a Decimus (loyal to the 10th Primus, Harpax) in the battle of Primi within the House. During his time at Fudarus, he was never quite fond of Buliste, probably because his master and Buliste got along. 'Out with the old and in with the new,' he has told Eos as his philosophy for his choice.

Description
Gregorius looks to be in his late-40s to early-50s. He walks with a pronounced limp, the result of a particularly savage beating during his apprenticeship that his master didn't properly heal. He is often seen with his staff, which is fashioned as a Rod of Asclepius. This is also his Talisman. He cares enough of his appearance to dress the part, but doesn't take care to present a polish look. Rumpled robes that have likely be slept in, and an unshaven beard are typical; he attends to those only when he has a moment to spare from his obsessive studies.

Magical Abilities
Gregorius Domus is an experienced magus and has made a career with Corpus magic. He has many Corpus-related spells relating to the curing and healing of people and has many of the known spells to the Order that deal with this. However, as one seeking recognition of Archmagus, he has also spent time developing 7th magnitude spells as part of his goal.
Silencing the Tumultuous Body (CrCo 35)
R: Touch; D: Mom, T: Ind, Ritual
Having discovered that he had the innate ability to cure a patient of "the falling sickness" (epilepsy) just by willing it, Gregorius sought to invent a way for other magi to achieve the same effect through Corpus. As a result of experimentation in the lab while developing this spell, any injuries caused by suffering this disease (contusions or broken bones caused by falling, or any internal organ damage) are also healed with the ritual. This additional effect is beyond the understanding of Hermetic Theory, though Gregorius passes it off as simply being a genius.
When Gregorius casts this spell, the victim may feel bruises around his body as if worked over by a particularly hamfisted physician. This is Gregorius' sigil, as he doesn't care so much about his bedside manner as long as he cures the disease.
This spell qualifies as a 7th Magnitude spell for the purposes of seeking the title of Archmagus. He has submitted his research to Durenmar and is engaged in a campaign to have it included in one of House Bonisagus' Folios. If he is successful, this will also count as an achievement of Order-wide success since the Folios traditionally contain only research from Bonisagus magi.
