Operations Officers, (General) coordinates ship's operations, training and tactical planning. Organizes operations department and delegates responsibilities for communications, Combat Information Center (CIC) and sensor activities. Confers periodically with commanding officer and department heads in preparation of ship's operation plans and training schedules. Conducts briefings. Directs underwater, surface, air and stellar searches and electronic countermeasures. Evaluates and disseminates operational information, advising command on required tactics and ship movements and controlling airborne aircraft through CIC officer. Supervises electronic equipment repair.
