Winter 1223
The Tales of Khras-Nagar
While returning from visiting Angharad in Powys Fadog, Geoffrey and a small group from the covenant passed by a hill with an unusual stone outcropping on it. While most saw it simply as an oddly-shaped rock formation, Sir Daniele and Gwendolyn thought it looked vaguely human-shaped. They notified Geoffrey and moved closer to investigate. As they approached, they could see it look more and more human-looking statue created by a master craftsman. It depicted a man in a stiff upright position holding a spear, wearing fur loincloth and an open, bare-chested tunic. The statue was made of basalt, but oddly colored. Three different types of writing at the bottom of the statue's base -- two unknown texts and one in latin -- revealed a name: Khras-Nagar and his eternal kingdom.
It wasn't until a direct question was directed at it did the statue speak, revealing his plight as a former king who suffered from hubris and who was cursed by the gods to witness the destruction of his kingdom and the scattering of his people. He was cursed to remain in his statue form in a hidden regio until one of his former kinsmen was brought before him, he begged forgiveness, and forgiveness was given. Part of his curse involved being unable to name his kingdom, his lineage, or his people, however, making it much more difficult to find such kin.
The party went back to fetch Angharad, thinking she might be one such descendant. They also brought Father Tudor, at Sir Daniele's insistence, in order that Khras-Nagar could be baptised, as he revealed that he preceded the Roman Empire. Upon presenting first Angharad, then everyone else, it was determined that nobody living within the area was a descendant and that his kin would need to be searched for.
Back at the covenant Khras-Nagar's situation was discussed among the magi. Veloxia and Geoffrey decided to travel to the Isle of Man, lead by Aesa (who is from there), to visit Storm, a powerful faerie being met during an earlier adventure. She advised them that there were realms of the faerie that could retell the stories of old, particularly those of the great and powerful. Elysium was the name of this and that there were faeries closer to the covenant who could lead them on a journey that could tell Khras-Nagar's story and of his people.
While visiting Storm, Geoffrey was able to view the skeleton of a long-dead dragon and take a tooth and claw before teleporting himself back to Nova Semitae.
Defeating the Guardian
While Veloxia and Geoffrey were headed off to the Isle of Man, Magni decided to take care of the guardian at Julissa's lab. Obscurus Ignis was there to watch. Due to the guardian not possessing a recent token from the Aegis ritual, its powers were significantly impeded by the Aegis. It was largely ineffective against Magni, who was attempting to banish it with Perdo Vim magic. However, it did manage to overcome Magni's Parma Magica briefly and cause itself to be inhaled, displacing the air in Magni's lungs. Magni was able to withstand several rounds of being suffocated and completed the banishment of the air elemental in question.
Julissa's lab was then opened and its contents claimed by Magni, including a journal that offers clues as to Julissa's -- and possibly the other covenant Founder's -- whereabouts.
