The party's cliffside residence, the Haunted Mansion, is located a few hard hour's walk south of Saltmarsh along a coastal bluff.
Haskenport
A small seaside town about 40 miles south of Saltmarsh, near the middle of the Mire of Dead Men. Founded within the last century, Haskenport has a population of just under a hundred individuals around a shallow port. The town itself is built across several levels climbing up from the water level to the dry top of a small hill. It would be a rather unremarkable fishing village if not for the discovery of a unique local mushroom foraged from the Mare of Dead Men.
Locations
- Port Hasken: A shallow port, all but the shallowest vessels have to drop anchor about a hundred feet out and come in by launch.
- Chapel of St. Cuthbert: Founded by the Acolyte-Paladin Lord Reynard Hasken, this chapel is dedicated to an obscure Saint-Deity. It serves as the main religious center for the town and, in the case of an emergency, the final bastion.
- The Lodging House: The sole Inn for the town, this building serves as the central social hub. For want of other civil buildings, the Inn also serves as the community center and unofficial house of governance. Most town NPCs can be found here at some time in the day.
- Haken's Manor: Located about an hour out of town to the north, this is Lord Reynard Hasken's original residence and has been abandoned since his death. The town holds out some hope that another adventurer might retire there someday.
Sword Mountains
Leilon
Leilon is a small mining town that served as a convenient resting place for weary travelers on the High Road along the Sword Coast between Neverwinter and Waterdeep. According to Volo, northerners generally pronounced it LIE-lon while non-locals who learned the name from a map typically chose any one of the other possible pronunciations. The town contains many stone cottages with slate or thatched roofs, the latter covered with hardened mud. Leilon's eastern mines contain copper, nickel, and silver that were sold to Waterdeep merchants. Once a month (except during winter) a band of gnomes came to Leilon to engage in trade. They were from the gnome village of Ieirithymbul in the western Sword Mountains. The Leilon military, known as the Lances of Leilon, consists of a force of 200 mounted soldiers. Each was fully armed with a sword, axe, knife, lance, and a light crossbow that could be fired from horseback with great skill. They wear chain mail with shields strapped to their chests and backs. These warriors are always on patrol, vigilant against raids by orcs, trolls, bugbears, bandits, and pirates, moving up and down the great road.
Locations
- High Tower of Thalivar: An abandoned wizard tower near the edge of town.
- The Knight's Goblet: Referred to as the Goblet, this tavern catered to travelers and was described by Volo as "clean, boring, and overpriced". Provides both lodgings (10sp) and meals (6sp), both are clean, complete, comfortable, and generally available.
- The Sword of Leilon: Expanded innumerable times over the eons, this inn was a virtual labyrinth of small rooms where guests often got lost and wandered by accident into other people's rooms. The rooms are small, oddly shaped, but inexpensive (2sp). They do not have a tavern but do offer small rations through their attached store.
- The Orc's Tusks: A large tavern-feast hall, the Orc's Tusks is the preferred venue for the locals. The portions are generous and the ale plentiful, leading to a rowdy and rancorous crew on a nightly basis. The hall is run by a well-muscled half-orc barkeep claiming to have provided most of the antlers, skulls, and tusks that decorate the room. (3sp)

In the Mountains
Gross Fell
A small village nestled into the hills above Leilon which acts as a gathering point for the local hill farm and shepherd hamlets and a feeder for the town of Leilon.
North Coast (Saltmarsh to Neverwinter)
Windswept Wall
Located about 10 miles north of Saltmarsh, if you follow the coastal trail, the Windswept Wall consists of a thin strip of flat land bracketed by a hundred feet of cliff to the sea on one side and a hundred feet of cliff face up on the other. As may be guessed from its namesake, a consistent wind buffets the cliffs from off the ocean.
Sionaas' Tower
One of the few permanent residences along the Wall, Sionaas' tower is currently under construction. In addition to himself and his staff, about a dozen laborers can be found encamped behind windbreaks. The stone comes from an excavation into the wall itself, though he only uses occasional select blocks.
Poisson (Village)
A small cliffside town about 30 miles north of Saltmarsh, notable for the deepwater harbor nestled behind a crag of sharp rocks. The docks can accept and moor up to four coastal vessels.
Locations
- Captain's Rock Lighthouse: A duel-purpose lighthouse and fog-bell tower, the tower on Captain's Rock both marks the position of Posson Bay and the location of the crag of islets and shoals that form a major hazard to vessels in the area. In addition to being a lighthouse, the staff also act as first responders in cases of shipwreck. It has been restaffed since the party cleared out Black Molly and her crew.
- The High Tide: A higher-class tavern situated at the top of the cliff village, the High Tide caters to the merchants and captains who stop into the village (as well as the occasional band of adventurers). Thanks to its clientele and position near the inland road, it also acts as the primary meeting & negotiating point for those selling cargo.
- The Singing Siren: A low-class alehouse nestled among the warehouses and workshops across from the docks. Frequented by sailors of all types, it offers generous potions of watered-down ale, a fire to dry oneself by, and plenty of makeshift furniture. The only things well-made and well-protected in the room are the cask-holds, designed to save the ale from the nightly brawl.
Coastal Islands
Junparrt Cluster
A small cluster of islets and shoals around a pair volcanic islands located west-by-north-west from Saltmarsh. It has no permanent settlements, though the party discovered an underground lava tube system being used by a local Hobgoblin pirate group. Although the pirates at the base, including a leader and mysterious warlock, no ship was docked at the time.
