Nkemdilim
Nkemdilim was born and raised on the clan sandcrawler, like the vast majority of Jawa. He demonstrated survival and scouting skills early on, so naturally he was apprenticed as a salvage scout for the clan at a young age. There among the open desert wastelands he developed an independent streak that would, if left unchecked, lead to friction with the rest of the clan and a life as a mid-grade scout. There would be no time for this fate to play out, however.
Imperial Stormtroopers, tracking the movements of two critical droids, came upon Nkemdilim’s clan while the young jawa was out on patrol. The imperials ripped the crawler apart looking for their missing droids, and slaughtered every jawa present. By the time Nkemdilim returned, there was nothing left but a wrecked crawler and a pile of burning bodies. He’d never been so heartbroken.
Greif eventually gave way to anger, and the young jawa swore revenge on the Empire that had taken his family and life from him. The march to the nearest town cooled his hot anger to a more simmering hate, freeing his mind to consider issues like imperial retaliation. He soon realized as long as he was still on Tattoone anything revenge he was seen doing would be taken out on his fellow jawa, a penalty he couldn’t bear to live with. He decided his best solution was to stow away and enact his vengeance on another planet, in another system. It was a galactic empire, and he could attack it anywhere.
He finally met up with the rebellion a year later, when he got in over his head after carefully mis-calibrating the guidance systems on a squadron of tie-fighters. Nearly caught by imperial authorities, he was extracted by rebel operatives and offered a position on one of their strike teams.
