Description

History

  • Background: Haunted One
    • Harrowing Event: You opened an eldritch tome and saw things unfit for a sane mind. You burned the book, but its words and images are burned into your psyche.
    • Heart of Darkness: Those who look into your eyes can see that you have faced unimaginable horror and that you are no stranger to darkness. Though they might fear you, commoners will extend you every courtesy and do their utmost to help you. Unless you have shown yourself to be a danger to them, they will even take up arms to fight alongside you, should you find yourself facing an enemy alone.
  • I know who my parents were. I was born in a church, the oldest of four children. I was raised by both my mother and father. When we weren't on the road, we had a small, modest home. Other children saw me as strange, different, and so I had no childhood friends. I became a Hunter because my mother was. When monsters came upon our village, I took up arms to prevent this from happening again. In my twenty-three years of life, I've had to rebuild completely when the monsters destroyed my home, and have made an enemy of an adventurer although I am innocent of their claims. I went on an adventure, and learned a great deal from it. However, I witnessed a falling red star. Clearly an omen of what is to come.

Special Rules

  • Fighting Style: Blind Fighting. You have blindsight with a range of 10 feet. Within that range, you can effectively see anything that isn't behind total cover, even if you're blinded or in darkness. Moreover, you can see an invisible creature within that range, unless the creature successfully hides from you.
  • Second Wind: You have a limited well of stamina that you can draw on to protect yourself from harm. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d10 + your fighter level. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.
