Brendon: It occurs to me "mercenaries" and "Imperial Garrison" is redundant- we may as well make them all Imperials, who recently (re)discovered the ruins, and may have important artifacts sitting in a museum somewhere.

There are benefits and downsides to that. Its simple, iconic and gives that nice Nazi archiology feel, but also makes the Imperial presence that much larger, and makes the two groups unified by default. It also reduses the amount of different types of enemy you can have - Imperials are pritty uniform.

We discussed the possibility of using clone wars reminants as part of my act 1... it recently occred to me that we could posit that this world was lost during the clone wars- Say, it was being scouted to use as a secret base and the separatists removed it from the republic archives, before the sepraists were defeated and leaving a droid control ship's worth of battle droids stranded on a backwater world that isnt even on the charts anymore. So we replace "Mercenaries" with Separatists (and the locals havnt even heard of the Empire) and have a crashed Droid Control Ship around someplace. (possibly one of the objectives, or it crashed on TOP of one of the objectives?)

I think you might risk making it (the back story/situation) to complicated with that kind of a story. Plus I don't think we want to take the Empire compleatly out of the picture, I mean doing all this under the nose of the Empire is a very classic and recognizable Star Wars staple. Part if it, of course, will depend on what kind of antaganists Mark want's to use for his 'sneek on base' story.

That being said, however, relics of an old clone-wars battlefield can be thrown in without influancing or missing much. Hell, I might throw some Archived battle droids in my part II as a game extender option. On that note, I should really work on my section...

Since we split the base into 4 sections, and the jedi only knew of one of them, I would think that the holocron would not actually know where the other entries are. However, some of the other points have been discovered since.

I'm thinking that the existance of the others may have been postulated, but never dealt with. I, for one, am planning to have clues that indicate where mine can be found that are only useful now that the Imperials have done some 'Urban Renewal'. Mark's location might have been known, but with limited funding they started with the more obvious "Front Enterance" If they knew where Ben's, Mark's and roughly where Mine were they could postulate aproximately where a reciprical enterance might be.
